FOR SA guideline of “OGOD” judgment
The parties in the “OGOD case” have decided not to appeal the judgment delivered by the Johannesburg High Court on 28 June 2017.
As a result, this judgment is now binding and applicable to the 24 000+ public schools in South Africa.
FOR SA has written a brief analysis of the judgment’s implications and effects, which we believe will be very helpful to:
- Any parent who is part of (or who may become part of) a public school’s School Governing Body (“SGB”);
- Any pastor, church, or religious organisation that does (or would like to do) some form of work, outreach or programme in a public school.
Please feel free to distribute this far and wide - it is very important that as Christians we have accurate information and knowledge as there is a tendency to believe, often inaccurate, media reports or reports by those who would like to see religion eliminated from schools.
