Vistarus Mission Station is situated at 1 Ambrose Street, Sydenham and serves the community by taking in destitute people (men, women or households) on our minimum 3 or 6 month live-in Program, providing for all their physical needs whilst building them up with their cooperation in order to be reintegrated into society. We provide free accommodation, clothing, meals and toiletries. Our adults work in order to sustain Vistarus financially and operationally. We are a non-profit organisation which receives no funding from government and work is part of the restoration process for our beneficiaries. We cover schooling expenses for the children and also have a crèche, laundry, small library and TV room. We have a doctor who visits us once a week. We have two social workers and offer social services, pastoral care and run various equipping classes based on God’s Word and the hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have approximately 305 adults and 90 children living at the Centre. Admission is subject to availability of beds and an interview process. We are not an overnight shelter, our program requires full-time commitment until its completion. We cannot accommodate the frail or disabled. We are not a registered drug rehab, but addiction invariably causes destitution so we have strict protocols to help those who do come in with addiction. Vistarus Sending Stasie geleë by 1 Ambrose Straat, Sydenham, dien die gemeenskap deur hawelose mense (mans, dames, gesinne) in te neem op ons minimum 3 of 6 maande Program. Ons voorsien ons mense van al hul fisiese behoeftes terwyl ons met hul samewerking hul menswees opbou en instaat stel om met die samelewing te herintegreer. Ons verskaf gratis verblyf, maaltye, klere en toiletware. Volwassenes hier werk saam op ons inkomste generende projekte om Vistarus finansieel en funksioneel te dra. Ons is ‘n nie winsgewende organisasie wat geen bevondsing van die staat ontvang nie. Werk op die Program is deel van die proses van persoonlike herstel. Ons dek skooluitgawes vir die kinders soos nodig en het ook ‘n bewaarskool, wassery, klein biblioteek asook TV kamer. Daar is ‘n dokter wat weekliks kom besoek. Ons het twee sosiale werkers en verskaf maatskaplike dienste, pastorale sorg asook verskeie geestelik toerustende klasse gebaseer op God se woord en die hoop van Jesus Christus. Ons het ongeveer 305 volwassenes en 90 kinders wat woon by ons Sentrum. Toelating is voorwaardelik op beskikbaarheid van beddens en ‘n onderhoud met Bestuur. Ons is nie ‘n oornagskuiling nie, ons Program vereis ‘n verbintenis tot sy voleinde. Ons kan nie verswakte of fisies- of geestesongeskikte mense op ons program akkommodeer nie. Alhoewel ons nie ‘n geregistreerde dwelm rehabilitasie sentrum is nie, besef ons dat verslawing ‘n gereelde komponent van haweloosheid is en ons het streng strukture om dit te hanteer.
